Rem 700 action screws
« on: February 08, 2020, 12:24:01 PM »
I just put a b&c stock on a rem 700 sa. I’m not able to tighten the front action screw, when I do the bolt won’t open? I know the easy answer is cut it down but I want to make sure I’m not missing something. Please help!

Common - put nut on screw, grind off one thread, pull nut off - fixed.  Try with a washer first to test before grinding.

You have the front and rear screws mixed up?  The rear is a bit longer at least in a long action.

No rear screw is WAY to long for the front. I’ll try the nut trick, thanks guys!
