A little late now but you could next year if you can find a place to trap out there. That might be a problem finding a place to trap.

I havent read this years rules, but the harvest of them on the islands has been prohibited for a long time.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

It was quietly removed from the regs.  Harvest is now allowed from what I can tell.  Finding a place to do it may be harder.  The only people on the island who dislike the fox are the farmers, and even at that it isn't many of them.  Most of them take care of their own issues.

Are there still a lot of rabbits on the islands? Went there when I was a kid (50+ years) and there were thousands. We shot tons of bunnies. Had a blast!

I actually posted this on another thread a day or two ago.  Long of the short is no, they're nowhere near where they used to be.  There are some colonies out in the American Camp park, but they're mostly at normal rabbit populations now.  You see them here an there (like a rabbit or two), same as you would in the forest or on a logging road at dusk.

Wow, big change. There were so many back then I caught a few by hand. Of course I was about 10 years old. (1964)
