Beware
« on: April 16, 2009, 12:43:47 PM »
There is a scam going around that could bite you in the butt if your not aware of it.  If you buy something on the internet from various companies you may, in a short time, get a small rebate check from that company, something along the lines of $7.55 or $8.00, something small like that.  You think cool, I just bought something from them so great and throw that bad boy in the bank.  A short time later your going to see a withdrawal along the lines of $149 or $225, something like that and your going to be like HOLY CRAP what the heck.  On the back of that rebate check in very small print it says by depositing this rebate check you agree to join a membership for $XXX.  Also while doing battle with them over this withdrawal, alot of times they will withdraw a second amount the same or similar to the first. You can get hosed pretty hard.  Watch yourselves, tell your friends and families...enemies are optional.

Thanks for the headsup.  Do these companies have anything to do with WDFW or a hunting comapny or did you accidentally post it here?
