Ranger xp 1000 vs can am defender 1000
« on: October 14, 2020, 04:08:30 PM »
What is everyone’s opinion on which one is better? Look at a new side x side in the crew. Narrowed down to the Polaris ranger cup 1000 or the can and defender 1000.

I bought a 800 canam in 2016. Everyone I knew was running polaris including myself. I went to buy polaris and the chicken "bad word" 6 month warranty when they want me to pay 10/15k is so bogus, way not to stand behind your product. I was patient and and got a killer deal on my camam and 6 years!!!! of warranty. Pretty soon everyone started buying canam that had been around mine and selling their polaris machines. My family has 4 now and they range from 2016/2019. Zero issues. Most have the 1000. I bought the standard 800 single bench seat. Now my family has grown and I will be buying a 2 bench seat 1000 next.

So asking that is like asking should I get a Ford or a Chevy your going to get opinions for and against both lol. Now when I was looking these were the top 3 I had on my list.  They are pretty evenly matched and I would have took either on but I went with a Honda Pioneer.  That being said I would have went with the Polaris.  More after market parts, a company that has been in the side x side market for years.

I just sold my '06 800 Outlander and got a '14 700 Yamaha Grizzly. Other than the CanAm throwing off a lot of heat from the engine and having to keep my leg at a distance after awhile the CanAm had tons of power and I never had any issues with it. I really like this Griz and the power steering and there's still plenty of power for me. Don't know if they ever fixed the cooling problem or not. :twocents:

I spend a lot of time in each of the models you listed with fully enclosed cabs. I own the Defender XT10. I'm normally partial to Honda and have spent time in a Pioneer 1000. Each has a few things I like better than the other. Overall, I think I'd rather have the XP1000.

Big fat NO on Northstar xp 1000 crew!  Friend has one.  Some trail miles, mostly road/hiway miles.  Around 3k now.  BUY WARRANTY if ya get one.  Sweet rides but breakdowns are frequent.  No knowledge on Can am Defender.  I am not a Fan of other CanAm. :twocents:
MAGA!  Again..
