Browning BAR
« on: July 20, 2021, 07:00:51 PM »
Looking at buying a New Browning BAR III Hells Canyon in .243, does anyone have any experience with these? Synthetitc stock/forearm, fluted barrel....
Thinking with 4.5x14 Leupold might make a great predator gun....   Thoughts?
Thanks,
BKMFR

I had Browning BAR in 7mm. Very good rifle and shot better then I expected.
I loved that rifle. They are a bit heavy compared to most decent rifles.

I also had a BAR in 7MM Mag.

I got it at 18 and it was my sole big game rifle for probably 25 years.

The only rifle I literally shot the barrel out of.

I'm a fan.

Received new Browning BAR III Hell’s Canyon in .243, just put Leupold 4.5x14x40 on it getting ready to start breaking in barrel. I am a bolt action guy, but enjoy the quick second shot of a semi auto, just don’t like the feel of an AR, nothing against them- have a Rock River Fred Eichler that is very accurate just really liking the feel of the Browning closer feel to bolt action, hoping it’s an accurate rifle, trigger feels ok not a Jewel, but ok. Hoping for that pack of wolves to come in close!!!
