Quick hunter saftey question for you guys

So im having a debate with my buddy on a question that is probly odvious we just dont know the answer...If you have ammo in the CLIP of your your handgun/riffle, and its in your car, is it still considered a loaded gun in your car??? My buddy said its not, I say it is......whats the answer boys

No, if it's not in the gun or attached to the gun, then the gun is not considered to be loaded.

If the magazine is loaded and in the gun then its loaded.

If the magazine is loaded but not in the gun your good.

If it's a browning with a detachable clip (loaded) but it is still attached to the floor plate and the floor plate is open, it is also considered loaded

That's right and it's BS that the law is interpreted that way. How is it unsafe to have the magazine attached like it does on the Brownings? I hunt with an A Bolt and it sure would be nice if I could keep that magazine attached while driving from one spot to another just so that I wouldn't lose the clip somewhere in the truck.

Found that out the hard way about ten years ago. Never got cited but never happen again..

With my Browning I just take the Magazine a put it in the cup holder of my truck. With a browning its pretty tough to jump out and get a quick shot off anyway. :chuckle:
