Youth Two Pole
« on: July 25, 2022, 12:53:57 PM »
My son enjoys fishing stock rainbows and currently 7 years old. He doesn't require a fishing license yet but my question was on a youth fisherman and the two pole rule. Not trying to be sneaky here, just trying to increase his odds. He's independent and doesn't want Dads help anymore but wasn't sure on the legality of it. Thanks

Maybe try emailing WDFW.  I asked if it was an option when I got my girls catch record cards at cabelas and she couldn't find it in the license system.

Here’s my two cents. There’s no money in it for the WDFW so I doubt if it’s legal sorry.

I would think if you had your two pole endorsement you would be perfectly legal.

Just looked at the regs and it states that you must have a license in order to get the endorsement. No license, no endorsement I would guess.

Just get him the Annual Combination Fish Under 15, it does not cost anything.  I do this for my kids because they need catch cards for salmon, halibut and crab.

I think this has come up before, and is not legal.  I would email wdfw to be sure.

About 3 years ago they stopped selling them for youths. My son always had it until the state quit selling them to youths. He's 15 now so I was able to purchase it again this year
