Anyone have a savage 110 ultralight 6.5prc?
« on: August 22, 2022, 10:01:06 PM »
Wanting to talk to someone with the same gun.
110 savage ultralight in a 6.5 prc with the proof barrel.

Hoping they shoot the 143 eldx. Trying to figure out some ballistics on it prior to shooting more.
I have a few different ballistic calves but wanted to talk to someone about there’s.

Long shot I know

I have one and have not shot the 143 year, however I shot the match 147 and so far they have been very good, I do have the 143 eldx but haven’t got to the range to test them out everybody seems to like them in the savage.

I've been wondering the same. So much to the point that I called Savage to ask if they can build a one off...and they can. I asked about them building a 110 Tactical with the Proof barrel but, with a stainless action. I was told they couldn't do it with the Proof barrel but they can do a 110 Tactical with stainless action and stainless barrel.

Question will you be hunting with the 147 match bullets?

I only have the 143 eldx bullets to hunt with. I want to see how far it can shoot with me behind the trigger. Lol.

I wanted to see what there calculations are with the same gun and bullet. Use theres as a stepping point so im not shooting pricey hard to get ammo.
I’m zeroed in at 200 and want to get out to 500 on a target.

Do you know what your velocity is????  or even a close guestimate?  My guess would be your 2800-2850 fps with factory ammo.  Put that in a ballistics calculator and find out what your MOA or MIL is and shoot 300, 400, 500.  Within 5 shots you should be able to make small adjustments and have it dialed.  That round is very capable of 500 yards...as is the rifle.

What scope are you using?  Does it have an elevation turret (for dialing)....MOA or MIL???  Or are you just planning on hold over Kentucky windage calculations?  If I had to take a guess.....I would say you likely have 45-50 inches of drop at that range.

Not to thread jack but I have an X-Caliber Pepper Pot straight flute polished muzzle brake in .264/6.5 it has .750 OD and fits the Savage Ultralight barrel perfectly I'd sell and ship for $50.

They are $75 plus tax and shipping. Works great, I'm just going a diff route now.
