Bears in 113?
« on: August 25, 2023, 01:06:14 PM »
Question from a horribly unsuccessful bear hunter  :chuckle:

Next weekend I’ll be out in unit 113 doing some bear hunting. I have a few pins marked and called the ranger station to try and get a little insight.

The two places I have to focus on are south of Sullivan lake, and around the Sullivan lake area. There’s a specific road that kind of sits between two ridge lines that as far as I can tell looks fairly good.

Just hoping to get a little insight as I never seem to do with bear hunting and most my hunting is thick thick western Washington forest so this will be a bit different, but I’m prepared for it.

Some of the areas are steep that I’m looking at, 1200’ of elevation in 1000 yards as the crow flys.

Good luck to all you still out there going for your bears!

I am not too familiar with 113, but I do have one area that was packed with Bear sign a few years back.  will PM you some details

Appreciate it!

I’m excited to get up that way, furthest I’ve hunted was out around and just north of Colville for turkey. It’s beautiful country.

THere is/was a fairly strong Grizz presence around Sullivan.  Definitely black bears in the area, but I always saw more sign south and west
