If you aren't willing to put up with constant shedding and possible front door scratches then a Sheppard might not be for you. Very loyal but they have their challenges for sure. Ours is 5 and I think it took 3 plus years and a neuter for him to not be a knucklehead.

We have 3 (1 10yrs and 2 4yrs). They are stubborn, and you must be the pack leader period. They are super loyal and protective, and want nothing more than to be with there family.  I wish we could swing another at this time but it just is not an option!  LOL  OH YEAH and prepare for homecoming howling as it can be very loud!
