Hawken Kit from Cabelas
« on: September 01, 2009, 09:43:22 AM »
Has anyone ever tried the Blackpowder kits from Cabelas?

I'm going to have a little bit of time on my hands pretty soon and thought this might be a fun project:

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602007-cat601141&id=0006378210059a&navCount=16&podId=0006378&parentId=cat601141&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601141&hasJS=true

I have no experience in such things so I am a true beginner.  Too much to tackle?

It is something you can do easily, if you have any mechanical apptitude at all.  Just take it slowly, read ALL the instructions, and follow them.  Plan on it taking longer than you think it should, and be prepared to buy a couple of tools along the way, if you do not already have a large selection of files, on hand.

Enjoy, and post some pics if you decide to do it.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
