Gravy???
« on: October 06, 2009, 11:41:38 PM »
Food is allways a good subject

Sorry I was bored and hungry
Whats your favorite gravy? I personally love all gravy's, but I do have a favorite. I use to get it at the Whistle Punk Restaurant in Lyman, back in the mid to late 80's. Their brown gravy was the best. I would order a plate of Fry's (a dinner plate that is) and dip them in the gravy. I haven't been there sense it was sold.

My next favorite would have to be sausage gravy over chicken fried steak.

Sorry only one vote per person so choose your absolute best and tell stories of the rest.
If it's smok'in it's cook'in. If it's black it's done.

Left over Turkey gravy over 'buttermilk biskuts and left over turkey shreads' from the day before.

Sausage gravy over bisquits

But any gravy is good gravy.  Will not turn it down, if offered.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Fry up a pound of pork breakfast sausage and add (grease and all)  to a kettle of TRIO country gravy mix.  Serve over Bisquik biscuits and you'll be the hero cook in elk camp!!!!!!  My camp drools for this every year.  I've only found the Trio mix at the Wholesale Cash and Carry stores but it's super simple.  Hot water and add enough of the powder mix to the thickness you like.  By the way,  I'm our camp's cook!!
MIke
PS   I also make a mean fry pan gravy from any venison-elk steak!  Scorch the flour a little and add milk and water, salt and pepper!!  My elk hunting partner for the last 40 yrs. absolutly founders himself on it!!  His wife doesn't make gravy!!
