THE RUT

Just wondering if any one knows if the rut has began? Going to be takeing my wife over to conconully  thanksgiving weekend. Never have hunted for whitetails during the rut and want to try calling one up for my wife to shoot. Do the whitetails respond good to calls and rattling them in? Any info would be great!
