coyote setup on the west side
« on: December 08, 2009, 08:14:10 PM »
I live on the west side but I have done all of my successful yote hunting on the east side. I would like to know what others on the west side look for in the setup.

Thanks Dan in Enumclaw

i look for real real brushy thick reprod and then find the nearest old over grown clear cut and start looking for sign.
No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.

Thanks,  that is what I have done a few times. I just haven't hunted coyotes on this side as much. We are going East tomorrow to hunt dogs.

Y'a know I work midnight-0800 checking mostly commercial properties-business parks from Everett Mall down thru Bothell, Woodinville, Kirkland and Redmond.  I've seen more coyote on city streets and alleys this way than I ever saw in the wilds...to bad we can't use Airguns or Bows in city limits :chuckle:

I worked for a small town on the east side for 7 years.  We had a ruger 10-22 fitted with a silencer.  We also had a "adult" airgun for shots where the 22 was to dangerous.  Killed a lot of yotes on my 2100 to 0500 shift.

I had the chance to do some overnight-nightwatchman shifts during the construction of the Seahawks new place in Renton.  There was a guy from the Dept of Agriculture culling beavers and ? One of his guns was a .243 with a silencer. Never heard a shot. He took some pretty big beavers...the geese seemed to thin out too...

Saw a video once in a gun shop. A water district guy in London had the job of killing rabbits that burrowed under their water tanks. He had a special .30 cal air gun hooked up to 3 scuba tanks...POW!!

Man i saw one when i was running right through residential South Everett. Would be nice to get at some yotes on the west side. I was thinking I might just go to some of the clear cuts i hunted for deer with a light and call??
