Mossberg 835 Ulti-mag... what's it worth
« on: February 24, 2010, 11:12:41 AM »
Got a guy interested in trading me this for a gun i have. Not sure what a used one is worth though.

Also i've never had one so i'm looking for your thoughts on if this is a good pump gun or not.

depends what model it is...several different options...$250-400 or so depending what it is and what kind of shape it's in I think is a good range.
good pump gun but not a browning BPS or a remington 870 IMO.

I've got one and they rock! its nice being able to shoot 2.75-3.5 I'm a lefty so the safety locations is why i have it. Killed everything from duck geese and  magpies with a turkey choke... I like it much better than my 870 express. :twocents:

They're a decent low end shotgun. I had one for a couple years. I sold it because of the porting on the barrel.  The porting makes them really loud, and hard on your ears.

I must not have the ultimag cause it doesn't have any porting.... :dunno:

I like mine, I've had it for about 6 years.  It rattles, kinda heavy but it's a workhorse.  I don't notice the extra noise from the ported barrel.  If I remember correctly, the barrel is bored to a 10 guage.  I hunt all my birds with it.  I think I paid around $360 new, could be wrong.  I see alot of used ones around $200-250 give or take.
