nice- I think this year i'll have to get into bear hunting. I always buy the tag but haven't really put any effort into it.

What caliber did you use,  were you using a treestand, or on the ground :hello:

Seth30- I'm shooting a 7mm rem mag.... with Winchester xps 160 grain bullets. I was on the ground.

D-rock425- Right on man, it seems likes its always real hard to get the perfect video. Sure would be nice to have a full time camera man.  :chuckle:

Finally got a chance to check out this video.  Great job!  I definitely understand what it is like to misjudge the size of a bear, no shame in that.  You can tell by looking at him that he is small, particularly if you pay attention to the size of his ears and the length of his neck.

All the same, congrats on a bear!  Better than I did last year.  Everyone shoots a dink now and then.  All it does is improve the quality of meat!

Winston, nice job! that video was awesome, getting footage of those bucks right before you shot your bear, awesome.

Nothing tougher than judging a bear at a distance and without anything of known size around it to use as a comparison in my mind.

Thanks for posting, it has inspired me to work on getting a video camera for my hunting pack with a small tri-pod.

Thanks again guys for the replies! I don't have any pictures of this bear on my computer. I need to see if I can find the memory card and get them on here.

I'll keep that in mind, I might be getting ahold of you when things get closer  :chuckle:

Good luck to everyone who drew spring bear tags, maybe this will give a little motivation. Shoot one bigger than this guy. Be safe and have fun! Make sure to identify your target too.
