Toms in the Snow
« on: April 06, 2010, 10:50:29 PM »
I've enjoyed a couple of "bonus" snowstorms the past few days.  I started my spring turkey project about a week and a half ago, but never thought I'd get to "shoot" strutting toms in the snow due to the extremely mild winter and early spring we've had.  So I've been very lucky to have some late snowfall coincide with the turkey mating season.  Here are some images from the past few days, taken with my new 50D:

Great pics, saw a few of those strutting this past weekend myself.  The snow never really showed up like they predicted here in the far east of Washington, so no snow strutting, but strutting none the less.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Cool! Which image?

When I "shoot" wildlife, I am forever thinking about mounts being done in the various positions I photograph the animals in.  I often see a photo of a bird or mammal in a unique position and wonder if one could be mounted that way.

I've been shooting turkeys a lot over the past week and a half, and am accumulating images at an alarming rate.  I can't keep up with the downloading/selecting the best ones/post processing process.  Hopefully I'll get some more images processed soon, and post a few more here.
