Savora Custom Takedown

Picked up this custom recurve today. Shot it a little and it shoots.

What can anybody tell me about it? I know a little just wondering what else anybody can tell me.

Yes he was the designer builder of Savora broadheads.

Follow up on Savora. Apparently Mr. Savora was not the actual bowmaker but was the owner of the company which built the Savora bows. Word on the street was that he employed several bowyers in the Yakima area (possibly bowmakers who had worked in the Howatt plant) for a time in the 1980s (I heard he passed away around 86 or so and the company fizzled). I got to pull back a Savora recurve today. It was a nice bow and still seemed to be in great shape. If the one you have is anything like it when it comes to quality (and it certainly seems that way from the photos) then it should be a nice bow which will last a long time.

My dad and I got help getting started into archery from Duke Savora in his bowshop in Woodinville. I believe he gave my dad a few lessons and we purchased all of our gear from there. This was back in the mid 80's or so.

If thats 50+ pull then I'll trade you my Martin Firecat compound for that. I got over 200 in accessories. Even give ya the 4 arrows i'm shooting through it. Got it last august or september. Only took it out in the field 4 times and to the 3D club once. Awesome bow but that things a beaut! haha
