Skagit Elk
« on: May 05, 2010, 08:22:43 PM »
Took a drive on Sunday, caught them just east of Concrete. 27 total with 4 Bulls growning and a Cow with a collar. The state must have done that recently, I saw the same bunch in January and she wasn't collared then.

 Sorry about the crappy pics.

There are lots of collared elk in the herds up here!   That collar is a little over a year old I am pretty sure.   They did it right in that field about march or april.   Thanks for sharing the pics...its gonna be exciting to see how big the ones down low get since one of them appears to be a big one!

Is that Hurns field? I remember cutting and bailing hay in that field when I was a kid. (BTW, its West of Concrete).  ;)

That herd has really been growing. I have ran into offshoots of it up in Finney Creek, about 15 miles south of Concrete. I've also had to dodge them swimming in the river with the Jet Sled.  :chuckle:
