skunked again
« on: May 14, 2010, 08:20:05 PM »
Was going to head out for some yote hunting, and my friend just called and said the lady wont let him go.  That was his third strike, time to start looking for a new hunting buddy. >:( >:( :bash:

I had a friend that used to burn me like that, he would call me up right before I headed out the door to tell me he wasn't up to fishing that day....I haven't fished with him in years now.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

1st time shame on you,2nd time shame on me...I learn this a lot or something like that..Everyone wants to learn to call game or learn the ways of bears..Well ya take them out show them a few things and never hear from them..Or ya find them with a buddie hunting the areas you show them...I find very few people are as committed to hunting or scouting as they say they are..Do your own thing, and if your lucky a good partner will come your way..PS never take anyone to your favorite spots......

Yeah I know what you mean, but I hate to hunt alone.  I would hate to twist an ankle up there.

i have started hunting alone alot more... its different but i like it in some ways more. I seem to be on edge more alone and not distracted. Give it a try if your buddy is flaking out...

i don't get guys that are so whipped that their wives won't let them go hunt or fish.  guess it's just my upbringing.  my dad worked nights so he went whenever he wanted.  no such thing as a kitchen pass in the household i grew up in.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

Too late for many now, but before you get married ask your fiance' where she (he for the ladies here) stands on your three favorite things, for me: Hunting/fishing, auto racing and Harley's.  If they aren't into the time your hobbies take, cut your losses; they'll change enough other things in time, don't sacrifice the things nearest to you. :twocents:

I hear ya. I have a buddy that calls at the the last minute and cancels too. Now we rarely hunt together. Going a lone is awesome but it's also nice to share the memories.
I don't understand why people put up with there girlfriends/wives/ etc telling them what to do. Especially about hunting. That is a NO NO in my household

My wife pushes me out the door.  She knows when I need some woods time.  She really likes it when I drag the boys along.  She says she enjoys the piece and quiet when we're gone.

LOL that sounds like road hunter rules :P  Some of the terrain that I hunt would be really tuff hopping up and down hill.  If I stay in the lowlands then I would do it alone, but in no mans land I dont know?
