Public state land buck, but if ya saw the date it was 5 years ago. Been back once since then with a deer tag & it was tougher, Had a chance at a nice whitey but got excited & pulled my shot. There were places that we always saw muleys & could pick & choose. I'd say if you're not seeing deer or sign to move.

Knophish- Ya I noticed the date on the pic. Do you plan on hunting region three for deer this year? I'm thinking about hunting 3 for elk and maybe going east for deer. I'm looking to make some time to get over there for a little scouting and lay of the land, probably won't see the elk I'm looking for as I don't think they be around til later in the year.

Pathfinder- Hopefully some of these studies on the deer are wrong and they have just been in hiding for a couple years.  :dunno:

Not based on what I heard from some of the guys that hunted region 4 last year.  One guy spent almost a week floating the Missouri Breaks and only saw a few does.  The guy I hunted with last year worked for MT FWP and he talked to a lot of Bios up there.  They all told him to avoid Region 4 until the populations recover.  Speaking of the central part of the state, (region 4 is pretty big), the whole region didn't get hammered by the spring snowstorms.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Winston, I probably will, to hunt with my dad, the area is pretty big. I'd like to get a whitey for the wall but it don't matter where. I'm trying to get on a ranch up north but not sure how that will pan out.
