Came across a knight wolverine at a great price
« on: August 10, 2010, 10:05:29 AM »
had one in florida and I loved it, sold it when I came to washington thinking it would not be legal.. which from what I have read recently may not be the case.

What say the experts.. is the knight wolverine legal here in the NW.. going after Elk this fall

thanks
Jeff

In its 209 lit configuration its not legal in WA..but swap the breech plug for one with threads for a nipple, screw in a musket cap nipple or a #11 cap nipple and you are good to go.  Also, no glass...open or peep sights only.

I would guess the same answer would apply to the traditions tracker?

Very true, unless you're hunting with your muzzleloader during modern firearm season, then it's anything goes, 209 primers, scope, etc.

I own a Wolverine and LOVE IT!  With 110 grains of Triple Seven FF powder, 340 grain Dead Center bullet/sabot combo, I can consistently shoot sub 2 inch 3 shot groups at 100 yards with a peep....on a bench of course.  I trust this combo so much that in 2006 I felt comfortable enough to take a shot at 158 yards on a 4 point bull elk and dropped it.  I have the camo thumbhole stock and it's stainless.  I would buy another and recommend it to all.  Oh ya...it also did great at 25 feet on a cow elk as well.......wish I had a bayonet in that case!  :chuckle:
