2004 Ford V-10 ?

My wife is looking at a Class-B RV with a V-10 engine and Ford E-350 chasis.  Any pros and con would be apreciated.

My buddy runs a v-10 and it seems to have tons of power. Sure likes the gas station

My Stepdad had a V-10 F-350.  It had great power but sucked gas like Elton John on a hot dog.

Same sentiment here....GASHOG.....I would pay a little more and get a diesel...more milage and longer life.

o and yes one of our hired hands had one and he said it got like 8mpg but when he romped on it i could see the needle move

I have a 2004 class C on an E-450 chassis with the 6.8l v-10. It pulls ok and I was getting about 9 mph on my last trip up to Liberty, tanks full and I was pulling my Jeep. That kind of milage aint bad with that much weight. Those modular engines hold up pretty good for gassers but I do wish my motorhome was a diesel.

My buddy has one.  It's newer than 2004, but the same engine.  It makes good power and pulls a lot.  Towing and hauling aren't about gas mileage- it's all about horsepower and torque.  When you add up the significant extra cost for the diesel engine and higher cost of fuel, it can take a long time for the diesel to pay for itself.  If you're only making a few trips a year, the gas is a good choice.
