better see what the fire at rainbow did before you get too carried away. I would surely scout it before you make a trip out of it. I nearly died coming in a different way because the water was not there.

Not able to camp in the park ( I don't think you can even with a special permit.) so there is a camp just this side of the boundary on War creek.  Have fun sharing it.  I know at least one outfitter that will be there using it and spreading his hunters out from there.  Bottle necked pretty bad.

War Creek is not close to the National Park and the Lk. Chelan Recreation Area is open to the High Hunt.  I have never been over War Creek Pass but once you get into the Chelan side of the ridge you will be in the hunt area.  War Creek is in the Sawtooth Wilderness which is not open.

From the pass, if you turn easterly, you will find a decent horse camp and water near Horton Butte (head of Fish Creek).  Don't know what it is like toward Boulder Butte or Lone Mtn.  If you can't scout it in advance contact the Forest Service at Winthrop and/or view google maps.

Good Luck and thanks for staying out of my High Hunt area :IBCOOL:
