I'll be "keeping my eyes open".  I'm not going to get in a hurry in the early season and regret it later.

Flying in to Seattle from TN on the 31st and will start out with on the dry side with a little dove hunting and then chasing elk for the entire early archery season.  Whether I fill my tag or not, I'm sure I'll have a great time hunting and camping with old friends!

High centered up in the Toutle for the duration until either I fill my bull tag or the clock on early archery runs out. Scouted every weekend since I drew and have been seeing some shooters here and there so just ready to get to it.

Won't make it out for the opener...sadly working a new job where I have no vacation, and to make it worse...I am on the west side of the state... I am planning on a few short trips. Best of luck to all, and most importantly: share the stories so I can get the fever so when I get home in Nov. I'll have something to try to beat ;)

I'll hunt locally for blacktails a day or two before elk and then hunt elk from opening until the 12th then I have to be back at work. :'(  We always make a trip for opening elk early and again late if needed.

My huntin partner is already at elk camp this weekend. One more week of work, then I'm off to the Lewis river unit on the 4th Sept. Seen two 330-350 class bulls last week on a scouting trip. Last year we brought out a 374" bull on the opener. These last several days are going by slowwww!!!!!!

Good luck everyone!!!

Trailers are setup... blinds and stands are up,  trailcams have been out for months and cards pulled twice (once for me Matt!)  and I have packed and re-packed at least 3 times now.... Is it Thursday yet?  I am leaving Thursday after work.... got a few big bucks to try to sneak up on for the first few days and hopefully tag one of them.  Also chase a few bears around up above our elk areas... Heck might even get a chance to take pics of some goats!  Of course if they are down hanging around Matt's tree stand (like the pics show in his thread) then I will never see them...

Yeah I'm going to have to break the news to the folks down there at the office about how September will go.

Not the only one, but seems I feel asleep a little bit at the service today. I think the preacher was on to me and mentioned blood and deer, feasts and rejoicing a few times to see if that would wake me up.  Hope it's not that obvious.
