Elk POV Video - Close Range and Quick
« on: October 14, 2013, 01:37:37 PM »
Here is a video of my brother archery elk hunting wearing a CamStrap while I film from behind. Not a monster bull by any means, but a quick and clean video. Let me know what you guys think.

That's nice!     I like the way you switched between your brother's video and your panoramic shot.

Nothing wrong with that. I have not been very good about grabbing mine. Finally put it on today for a first time hunter and got it done. Still need to tweek my angles a little bit and learn the right amount of zoom but they are a nifty little setup.

It does require a little effort to dial it in right every time without checking. I can line the CamStrap/camera up perfectly 90% of the time, and at least 99% of the time it is good enough. I do not mess with the zoom at all; if it needs to be zoomed, I do this with an editing program. I tried zooming a little once as a coyote was coming in. He came to 15 yards, but I was zoomed in too much and he was not in the frame when he smelled me. No shots, but it was an eye opener.

Great video... Thanks for sharing.

I was looking at those video cameras but I could not find a website to buy one or find a price.

Thanks for the comment. We do not sale the video cameras, that is up to you. You can use any camera that has a 1/4 tripod thread on the bottom. This allows you to use the standard features such as zoom, screen, audi worth listening to, incredible image stabilization, etc that are not on most action cams. Plus, most people already have some type of video recording camera that will work, of course HD camcorders work best. Most digital cameras these days record footage that is comparable with GoPro, are less expensive, and still offer the features mentioned above.

Check out the camera recommendations on the Solvid Website for more info on cameras: http://solvidsystems.com/camera-recommendations/

Thanks again.
