Unfilled archery tags
« on: September 18, 2010, 01:13:26 PM »
This is my first year hunting in WA and was wondering what happens if I don't fill my archery elk & deer tags. Can I continue to hunt in the muzzleloader & general rifle seasons? If so, do I need to continue using my bow or can I switch to a rifle or muzzloader, depending on what the current open season is?

I know this was covered in hunter ed, but I took that 3 years ago! I can't remember what the ruling was and I haven't seen anything on the WDFW website.

Thanks for any help!

No!  You can only hunt the season dedicated to your tag, no crossover.

Sounds like you need to go get a Washington big game reg book and educate yourself.

Thanks PolarBear for not being an arrogant ass and answering the simple question. That's what I figured, just wanted to be 100% certain.

Unfortunately this isn't ID or some other state that allows that kind of hunting... You obviously come from  a state where they actually have/had animals...  :twocents:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

You take a pot..put some water in it with a little bullion and your tags...MMMM Tag soup..A lot of us on here have it every year or from time to time...

Didn't mean to be a  :sas:...but YOu can only hunt seasons according to your tag..unless you get drawn for multi season elk or deer..then you can hunt with different weapons and seasons.  But if you draw it cost you about $165.00.

Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!
