A few folks out in the hills and a lot of folks bugling from the road. Had a truck stop just around the corner from my camp and bugle. Didnt even turn their truck off.

last year there was a ton of people but like said, a lot of road hunters and quad hunters. we saw very few people back in the sticks. we were going to go up there for the last few days. but it was my buddies, daughters b-day. i felt bad asking him to leave and get to far from home. i bet it was a lot like last year. this year again.

My brotheralways hunts the rimrock. He said there was by far more people there this year than every before. Like almost 2x as much. Probably alot of the bumping guys that got displaced
He said even back in the wilderness there were guys. Said its the last year he'll hunt it.

I had a bull tag there this year. Shot a bull from 20 yards in a drainage at about a 45 degree angle down hill. I cow called to stop him and he layed his head back a little and bugled about the time I released.  :bash: Hit him in the main beam on the left side and shattered my arrow. Passed on lots of cows and a spike the first day, but never heard or saw any more bulls. BUMMER

I had a week and a half there this time so I decided to hold out. I will be in the area in the late season as well. It was definately an experience I will never forget. Love elk meat but it is not the only reason I get out every year. Always a good time no matter the conditions.
