Saw a bear today
« on: April 06, 2008, 10:19:12 PM »
I saw this bear today while driving over Stevens Pass. He was about 10 miles west of Leavenworth feeding on a green hillside. It took a little bit of hiking to get close enough for a picture.

Nice bear! I saw two bears last year near there on the left way up on a hill coming out of Levenworth where the highway goes into two lanes.

What camera and lense did you use?

Good looking boar! Definitely a shooter! I wish the wdfw gave out some east slope of the cascades spring bear tags. The population is definitely strong enough to support a spring hunt.

Wow, nice find. You saw him while you were driving then started to hike after for a shot? No wonder there are so many accidents around there....  :chuckle: Hey just kidding, great job.

VERY nice Timber.  I figured it must be a polarbear.  I want to know what hillside has that many spring flowers blooming.  Everywhere I go there is SNOW snow and more Snow.

The bear was about 150 yds away when I took the picture. Unfortunately, he heard me fighting through the thick brush and crusted snow. I was as surprised as anybody to be driving and see a bright green hill amongst all of the snow covered hills, then to see a dark colored dot in the middle of it.
