i hope you get a few replies, i just moved up here from Oregon and I don't have a clue where to hunt, but love chuckar hunting!  I'm thinking along the Columbia around vantage maybe or over along the snake south of vantage but I've never hunted either place just done some searching on topo maps for country that might hold them.  I am going to try to get up that way here in the next few weeks to give it a shot, if I find some I'll let ya know.  Good luck!

Birdaddict,

I've just joined this forum but have already read through a lot of postings. I suspect one will get a lot more feedback asking "how" vs. "where."   e.g. see posting titled "burned" in this same section.

In that spirit, you want to get up high on the rocky ridges. You find plenty of those along the Columbia, Yakima and Snake rivers. Be in good shape, bring water for you and your dog & have fun!

Try the breaks along the river.  In college, I had good luck with them in the steep and rocky breaks of the Snake River.  It's hard work, but fun if you can bag a few.  Good luck.

We used to go hunting geese by Mardon's and over by Grimes lake.
We would run the roads looking for geese sitting in the wheat fields and flush the chuckers off the shoulder. Then chase them for a while.

I think they cover the east side pretty good, hanging out in the sage patches along the roads.
Lots of fun to be had there.
