Muzzleloader question?

Are the Remington in-lines, Washington state legal?  Just wondering, may have a chance to buy one.

Not familiar with Remington inlines, but this from the WA game pamphlet, pg. 70:  "Ignition is to be wheel lock, matchlock, flintlock, or percussion using original style percussion caps that fit on the nipple and are exposed to the weather."  It goes on to say that primers designed to be used in modern cartridges are not legal. ie. no 209 shotgun primers.  HTH.

 What model are you looking at? There is a Remmington based off the Model 700. From all I can tell / see, the breach is not exposed, thus making it a no go for here in Washington.

I know a couple of guy's who have Remington muzzle loaders. I'm not sure what model they have but the one's they have are legal in Washington. I do know that they both shoot .54 cal.

I'm told that guys that have inlines with encosed breeches are having a machine shop mill an opening in the top of the action so the nipple is "Exposed to the weather" thus making it legal in WA.  Dunno... I use the old style sidelock gun.

All of the inlines I've seen use the 209 primer which is illegal in WA

Yes goldtip, there is a discontinued Remington "think 700" that is a bolt action that is legal here in washington. It uses a conversion kit and shoots number 11's my friend has one. will try and find it online, if i can i will post a picture of it.

are there any inline muzzys that are legal here? I saw a guy out hunting who was carrying a ruger inline it didnt look legal to me. My ex gf's dad has a remington that is inline and exposed to the elements, it was a nice weapon with a stainless barrel

In the short period of time Remington made Muzzleloaders recently they made a couple different versions.  Some were WA legal and some were not.

Find out the year and the model number and I will be able to tell you.

I shoot a Remington .54 700 ML.  24 inch barrell & WA legal.  

700 ML (1996-2004)
700 ML Camo (1997-2000)
700 ML Custom (1997-1998)
700 ML Youth (1998-2000)
700 MLS (1996-2001)
700 MLS Camo (1997-2000)
700 MLS Custom (1997-1998)
700 MLS Magnum (2002-2004)
700 MLS Magnum Camo (2002-2004)

The MLS Magnum from 2002-2004 was a 26 inch barrel in .50 cal

after 2004 they made the Genesis - which is not legal for WA.  It is a closed breech, 209 ignition used for other states.

Thanks Whacker, may just take you up on that.  May need to pick your brain about what all I need to get started as well if I pick this one up.  Thanks a lot for all of the info guys!  Oh yeah, any suggestions at what a new in box remmy muzzleloader would be worth?

I bought mine used in 2004 I believe for $300 if I remember correctly.  I think there value has held fairly steady.

nice to know the model 700 muzzleloader is washington state legal.....2 weeks to late. my buddie just sold one in stainless for $200 new becasue it used 209 primers and didnt know you could make them use #11 caps
