-My mom drew 1 of the 5 permits. She had a great hunt but didnt notch her tag. Seen some nice bucks but didnt see what she was really hoping for!

Yeah I had one of the white-tail tags. I did help a fella out with his Muley, he had one of the five tags. He shot a nice 160" ish 4x. Saw heck of alot more muleys than white-tail.

What part of the unit did she hunt?

It makes a guy really appreciate the kind of trophy you got this year during a general season doesn't it?  Maybe not as many true big bucks roam the mountains as some people think. :)

Thanks guy's for the comments but in my opinion that unit is going down hill fast we would see buck like this and bigger in the years past but it is slowly being over hunted and I hate to say but I think special draw for us archery guy is due for the late hunt .

If they would make these late archery units a draw hunt that was a unit specific hunt choice meaning you put in for the hunt its the only unit/season you get to hunt it would eliminate alot of the pressure that comes from guys who aren't as serious about the hunt/unit. It could be 100% draw for those that put in and would still work. I wish they did this with the entiat area before it went to draw only. We need to protect these herds late in the season but still give some opportunity. nwhunter

i have been hunting in the sinlahekin for over 10 years now.seems like the last time i saw the big bucks in the valley was a few years back when the chelan butte was on fire so they closed the sinlahekin for fire control. early archery and modern rifle where closed.the only season allowed to hunt there that year was late archery.

I don't know about that. I scout over there a lot and i usually see pretty good bucks. Yes they disapear during hunting season  :chuckle: but they are there... someware. I even saw a booner during modern rifle. Unfortunatly i didn't see him until my Buddy shot a buck and he jumped up about 20 feet from the other buck. :bash: oh well thats hunting.

I'm not saying there not there just not as many of the boys as a guy us to see during and after the season a lot of those big bucks are being killed in that 30 mile area after the burn and nothing against the guides and outtfitter up there but we as hunter need to let those inmature bucks walk.

That's a great deer Time2hunt!
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
