I have a 13 year gap in my fly tying, and realized I have a lot more practice to get back up to par.  A very fun and addictive hobby.

I used to love tying flies and fly fishing, had 13 fly rods when I gave it up. Was a sad day for me, I sold everything to a young kid.

Shoulder went bad, and it hurt more than it was worth it.

Have fun with them, I used to love tying flesh patterns for big rainbows in Alaska when the salmon were running.

A tip, from my fly tying days:  Put some Moth Crystals in those feather boxes, or the weevils will have a heyday in them!

Critique:  It's too neat!  :chuckle:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Thanks for the comments!  The one thing I havent been able to master is the whip finish.  Its harder than the book makes it seem.

It is hard to get it, but once you do it is easy. And it never goes away, you will just do it second nature.

I need to keep on it, and I know it will make tying the fly off a lot easier than what I do now.

Have you tried one of the whip finisher tools??  That is what I used until I got teh concept down and then started using my fingers.

yes, I have one.  I think instead of reading the book I will watch a youtube video. It should make I a bit easier.
