machias range

anybody know when the machias range opens. i believe last year it was right around daylight savings time. anybody know what monday it starts. thanks

 I thought it was starting this coming Monday but its not .  Best part about the range besides the friendly people and the new targets every year its only 5 minutes from my house.

I think its 8 bucks this year it was 7.  It is hard to explain where it is.  Do you know where Tom thumb is?  You might try to find seattle rife range on the web I thing that's the official name of the club.  I could be wrong.

Look up Seattle rifle and pistol association that should give you an address or map.  Hope to see you guys there its a nice range with a couple great guys that run it.

i did. i wasn't that impressed, a lot of short shots, and the belting behind the targets suck, my little brother hit it a few times and every time i tried to pull the arrows out the belting would rip the inserts out. also the guy running it came into the woods just to tell us to only take one shot to keep things moving, but we were the only group out their, i could see him saying that if groups were staked up. the only thing i liked was it is close to home. i'll just stick to shooting my own 3-d targets during the week

it states clearly 1 arrow per target hit or miss.  3-d targets are not cheap I don't know a range with 3-d targets on it where you can just shoot away.  As for the back stops if you don't miss that wouldn't be a problem .  Inserts are cheaper than replacing arrows.

we were only taking one shot each i think the guy wanted to cut out early since we were the only group out their, and as far as missing i never miss i only use mulligans when i get fives.

i should be a little clearer i have missed a few targets when i first started but i haven't missed one in the last 6 shoots i've done. not bad for never touching a bow until dec of last year
