The road up to salmon meadows washed out just above kerr camp ground. They say they aren't going to fix it. At least not before hunting season.

Yup it would just suck to tow a trailer up and gave to back down to a turn around. It takes awhile to get there through the back way.

A friend of mines husband was driving up the road when the slide happened. He saw a tree go rushing by then the earth. He had to do a fast backup and was ready to jump. He made it back to a flat spot safely. There is a couple others I know that were stuck up there until the made a temporary road for them to get out.

The other ways in as of this time are still under snow. Like Lone Frank Pass etc., but once the snow goes just a little longer trip there.

Also I talked to a guy I know from the Forest Service and if the land is stable this summer they may and may clear it. He said it all depends on the slope above. The only bad thing is if we get a fire up there then it limits access to fire fighters. In that case the road will be punched, but whether it is going to be fixed good enough for everyone to use after is another story.

Not right now there's not.  42 road is shut down also, and with the snow coming in from the top isn't going to happen for quite a while. 

There's no doubt in my mind that it's going to be rebuilt this summer.  The USFS can feed you all the sh*t they want, but look at the amount they've spent on that road the last couple of years, from the road rebuilting across Lone Frank to the trailhead facilities below Mutton.  It's the main thoroughfare (besided the 42 Rd) to Winthrop and Loomis from Conconully.

Have you ever been up there ? This is ATV heaven in Conconully. You can't ride up to Salmon Meadows from Conconully, but you can ride all over that country so the anti ATV hunters can't complain...... :)

I'd call the forest circus and ask them. You might get an answer, but who knows, they might not speak english to good...........
