So I went out to Gran Coulon state park today in Renton and went fishing in the South side of lake washington and had very little luck. I only caught one fish and it was only about 9" long. I was doing the conventional egg weight, swivel, leader, and hook with a worm with 6 pound test mono line. I was wondering if I should invest in a baitcasting rod and reel and fish with all of the wonders of tackle that I could use instead of just the conventional setup with a spinning rod and reel that I previously described. I've been fishing for my entire life and have had lots of success, accompanied with days of no luck. I just wanted your opinions to which is generally more successful. Thanks!

BTW: I am talking about lake fish other than bass, if I were to fish for bass more often I would surely buy a baitcasting rod and reel and use the tackle.
