September Weather
« on: July 16, 2011, 11:56:42 AM »
So with the weather we have been experiencing on the wetside so far this "summer" do you guys think the summer weather will be pushed even farther into september? I usually hope for dry weather and an occasional sprinkle in The first week of the season but im not sure if that will be the case this year. lets hear your opinions.

I agree Yoterhunter, you never know. I hear the weather predictions for a really bad winter & el nino crap every year . Just going to have to get up in the morning and deal with it. I myself always hope for "cooler" , dry weather. Mike

At work were expecting a late fire season. From the end of august through beginning of October.

Hard to say. Ive been in the woods quite a bit and suprisingly it is wetter than i woudve expected. Normally im watering my pastures by now and i havent had to yet! I would like to see some dry weather in the first week of September with some showers moving in around the 3rd or 4th day of archery elk then back to dry and so on. I have seen rain turn the elk on like somebody flipped a light switch!

I'll take any thing that's dryer than last year.last years Sept rain was a real cluster for elk , but like we say in the army "it can always get worse!"

What summer? :dunno:  :chuckle:. I hate it when it's dry. Hope it rains.

went on a website that has long-range forecasts and for the NE where I'm from the prediction is for 2 degree below normal temps for every month thru dec and from .2"-.5" above normal precipitation.

I would prefer the cooler with a light drizzle on and off. My summer temps of 75 - 85 is my range of comfort. I'm planning for a meat hunt this year in the Winston unit and hoping for a mild summer with no fire danger this year so I can get in and out the second week of archery elk.
