Some more pics.
« on: July 21, 2011, 12:36:01 PM »
Yesterday I made the 10mi round-trip hike up to my cam in my elk spot..I had high expectations as the cam had been out close to 50 days. I arrive at camera to see the area full of sign..get to cam..its dead....well maybe its full. 6 pics camera died days after I left. 8 brand new double A battery's in my Bushnell trophy cam  :bash:
Found this on the way up to cam

the jist of the 6 pics

These pics are of my other spots...a old friend has reappeared a big 4...he's 5 this year and hasn't changed much from last year.

20 miles of walking...$60 in fuel and $20 in salt is harldy what I was thinking after a 50 day soak. almost left camera in the mountains... my most expensive cam and it has the most issues...my cheapest cams are the most durable and they are all flash..nothing but issues from IR ones

Ouch!  Thats scary considering I just bought the 2011 Bushnell cam with the lcd screen.  It wasn't cheap and was hoping it would be worth the cost.  Just got it today and haven't even turned it on yet.  Reading the manual it says the Energize Ultimate Lithium batteries have the best results, supposed to last a whole year.  Sorry about your luck, 50 days is a long wait!  The moose antler would be worth the hike for me however.  Btw nice pics for what you got.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

going back with more salt and a different trusted cam. I have yet to see any manufacture of cams making claims they last a year... my tascos run off of double A batts and 2 died this year in a month

Well try Reconyx(one of the few american made) much more than Bushnell Bone Collector and more reliable, quality, trigger speed etc. But they are alot better cam if you don't mind putting the bills out there.

one thing I have learned in the last 10 years playing with cams is all of the cams no matter what you pay will have their issues and none last that long..only so much they can handle being outside day in and day out

Going on my 5th year with 2 of the original Cudde back cams and my 3rd year with the bushnell. Guess I've just been lucky. I do like the quality of pics your getting off the cheap tasco cams though Shane. Think I might have to pick a couple of them up.
