down low right about the hiway in the rock bluffs there is a heard of about 25 with a 7x7 herd bull.  He comes down into private property every night with his cows.  The owner does allow hunting on his land too if you ask early.  I actually know of two places where this occurs with in your units.

Hey i was also drawn for the goose prairie hunt this year. I was able to go up to the nile unit yesterday and hike around. I was able to find a spike and one cow down low on the 1600 road but no animals up higher by mud springs. Ive been told by people that rattle snake creek was where i should spend my time.

Hey another bowhunter in Lake Stevens. Ive had that tag before and its also the units that everyone ele hunts, so it can be a little discouraging. My advice would be avoid the crowds, try Clover Springs at the end of the 1600 line also out the end of 1603 between the road and the river. I drove right past a huge bull in that area bedded 15yds off the road. I made a stock got within 15yds but had no shot thru the thick brush. Didn't take to long for him :bash: to bust out and go to the next county. :bash: oh ya thats the same day my hunting buddy decided to sleep in :bdid:

If you have a bull tag and are going up to clover springs I would say drop off windy ridge down into rattlesnake creek.  Bivy up on the other side, there will be less people.  It's a hike out but well worth it.  Back behind Lindsey camp can be good too down in the bowl.  There are a ton of other guys in there too.  Good luck.

This topic was started like two years ago.  How did it find its way to the front page again.

Was scouting two weeks ago and saw some nice bulls in the Nile area.  A four point a Lindsey camp, two six points up the 1608 road, between 1608 and 1600, and a fantastic seven point at the intersection of 1600 and 1706. The 1608 will be gated during hunting season, not a bad hike.
Good luck.   :)
