Does it have to be on trail camera or could it be ones you took with regular cameras

Pictures thru my spotting scope the second weekend of deer season. Tried to get on him Sunday but when I saw him at about 200 yards the shot didn't feel right so I didn't shoot.

This picture was taken 2 years ago in June. If you look at the bull in the back it is a lot larger. It still had a lot of growing season left and if you look at the eye guards, they are huge. I always wondered how big he finally got.
