had a cow(didnt know it at the time) at 30 yds but all i could see was the kill zone cause she was behind two trees... until she turned and trotted off down the hill through some brush....  :bash: that was friday morning and im on the east side so ya it was hot, loud and tough hunting. but never the less we got into them and it was a good time. now it needs to snow and late season needs to hurry its ass up and get here!  :chuckle:

I've been out in Rimrock area (lower Pinegrass area).  It's DRY, DRY, DRY.  Hard to stalk.  I did get within about 25 feet of a bedded cow and 1x2 in some heavy branched stuff.  They took off and I never had a shot.  Did see a 6x6 and two other cows that were spooked by someone and they were moving!

A buddy of mine is hunting near Mt Adams, and they took 2 cows and a 6x4 the first 3 days!

I'm heading back out on Tuesday.  Hoping for cooler weather so they start moving around on their own.
What kind of rig were you in?  I hunted that area all last week. I almost got a cow at 10 yards but there was a little tree in the way, then I was busted.  I saw a few elk each day but they were way back in the thick stuff.  It was tough to hunt that heat
