Williams Creek camping
« on: September 08, 2011, 10:09:12 PM »
Plans had changed several times today as the tree farms started closing down for fire danger. I am now moving from hunting Winston, Mossyrock/Cinebar area to Williams Creek. I am leaving tomorrow night for the week and I need some info on where to camp!! No I know where I am going to hunt just need a fresher course on where to camp since the last time I was in the area hunting was about 5 years ago. I always drive down 101 when going to the Columbia to fish and see all kinds of pull outs and a camp ground. I just don't remember where it is, I think it's some where near Nemah or further south by the Naselle? Can some one direct me as I am going at 0 Dark 30......thanks

Good luck!! I would recommend heading even further east into the Gifford Pinchot national forest. Pretty much every area in Williams Crk is shut down for fire.

Actually there are a couple of pretty large blocks of state DNR land in that unit, and state land is open for hunting. But the Gifford Pinchot would also be a good option. Although I really feel sorry for the archery hunters- anywhere that's still open for hunting is likely to be very crowded.
