Decisions...decisions...my hunting quandary.
« on: October 06, 2011, 08:34:52 PM »
Well, I am having trouble making the call on what to do...  I have a 2nd cow tag for 3911 and have been there three different weekends and seen nothing so far.  I was thinking about giving it one more shot this Sunday, but it's a heck of a drive.
Now, If I skip the Sunday hunt, I was thinking about skipping out on my Deer partners for the 10/15 opener in Winthrop and instead, hunt deer alone in 328, and hunt for my cow in the lower 328(3911) at the same time.  I've never hunted deer in 328 but have heard good and bad comments about crowds and lack of deer.....  So, what shall I do????  Is it worth going back over for the possibility of a cow during deer opener weekend, or is it just a madhouse?  Thoughts anyone?   :dunno:

you'd get a lot more meat shooting an elk!   :twocents:

Personally I think the Winthrop deer hunt would be a lot more fun. Odds are good for a deer in the Winthrop area, Naneum not so much. The elk is no sure thing either. Seems to me you could go to Winthrop for the memories with your friends, or Naneum for a small chance for some meat, and memories that would be only your own.

It would be a lot cheaper to go to Safeway if you need the meat. I'm all in for the memories and good times with my buddies always.

Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
