Slicer?
« on: September 29, 2011, 10:53:45 AM »
Cabelas has a refurb Waring pro food slicer, reg 99 on sale for 69. I have read the reviews (mixed).
Anybody on here ever use one?
Did it end up in the trash? :chuckle:

I've used that specific slicer before and it's a lightweight. For the occasional turkey breast, it's fine. The blade steel isn't high quality and will dull fast. For more frequent use, go with something a little more durable for foodservice. If you have the bucks, you might drop $350 on a good one. I'd check Craigslist for slicers and for restaurant auctions, and then a local restaurant supply.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I'll save my $69.
Thanks

 :yeah:
Personal experience, save your money.  Different brand but my $100 plastic slicer lasted a few rounds.

I was given that slicer for a christmas present last year.  So far it works pretty good for the price.  It's definately not commercial grade or anything.  It has done everything that I have asked of it so far.
