Bone,
I know little about cameras but with the equipment you have, what is your normal yardage from the deer when you take your pics?

30 yards is perfect.  40 is usually acceptable.  I think this was with a 2x coupler and at about 100 yards, plus its cropped.  Note its not super sharp.

You kinda have different photos.   Those that document an animal and those that are sharp clear perfect photos.  Today I doucmented a couple bucks but didn't close the distance to get "calender shots" .    I saw this particular buck the other night right at dark.  He was rutting hard.  Hes been about the only one fired up.   There wasn't any light left so I just enjoyed him in the binos.   I thought I was stalking him the next morning, but it ended up being a different buck.    This particular buck is acting very similiar to a buck that rutted in this exact spot last year.   I bet its the same buck.   I don't think he had any garbage on his bones last year.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
