What it means is the three units are all included in the true spike area and overall bull permits are down to a historicl level, only problem is the bulls get smacked on the freeway or poached, the bulls that do survive mostly all get ate by bigfoot.
Teanaway unit has been bounced around by The Game Department and DFW alike.
The first year that you couldn't hunt anywhere in Washington with just an elk Tag it was a"C" tag unit (about 1983)
There were C (colockum) B (blue Mtn) Y (yakima) and W (wetside) tags with different opening dates Colockum/Blue-as the dates are now for E tag/ and Yakima/ W opening after the first 2 closed, usually about the 4th of November.
We always Colockum hunted, but in 1995 I had to work during the Colockum season and Me and a partner went Y hunting later. At THAT time the Teanaway was considered a Yakima unit.
Anyone know when they changed it back? My guess is when they combined all eastside tags and saddled us all (M/R) to the earlier season dates. I was very surprised that the Y tag holders didn't pitch a fit when they moved up their date.
