Another awesome weekend.
« on: December 11, 2011, 05:34:06 PM »
Another great weekend waterfowling. Friday was pretty much normal. 7 greenheads....7 shots but, there were a few more pintails than normal. Saturday was a bit different in the fact that with the freeze I had to move to another property that had open water. Another 7 greenheads and 7 shots (and they were CLOSE!). Today I was all froze up but, the ice was a bit rotten. Had to stay longer than normal but, when the thaw really started going the ducks were game to play. 7 greenheads and 8 shots (one was a finisher because pup was in over her head on that one). Earlier this season I had switched to my M1 Super 90 .20 ga. for some challenge. Back to the safe for that one! Terrible shooting on my part. Back to my ol' trusty 870 .12 ga., man I love that gun. Only one triple this weekend but, there's a lot going on when you try to triple-up on mallard drakes.
