I recently read an article in an outdoor magazine that was praising using a Tenkara rod for fly fishing. It's basically a Japanese style telescoping fly rod that does not have any reel on it. I really like ultralight backpacking and was kind of liking the simplicity of it. Before I go spending $150 or so on another activity

, I wanted to know if anyone has experience with this style of fishing. I don't know anyone personally that has used one of these rods. Thanks in advance for any feedback you have.
