Bumpers on newer trucks
« on: February 07, 2012, 07:02:53 PM »
The other day I was out taking out some of my fence to get a track hoe in  for some work. I was using my truck to push the wooden posts abit so I could get them 'rockin' and pull them out. Now I got this little dent in my rearbumper on the drivers side. I know its a farm truck :chuckle: but it is a 2010 purty chevy truck.
My question, Does any after market outfit make "real" rear bumpers?? I have a receiver hitch also.  :chuckle: afterall I might want to back into something else??? :dunno: A nice looking solid, chrome bumper, made of steel.
thanks
Carl

If I was going to buy an aftermarket bumper I would buy one from ARB.

Fusion makes a good quality bumper.  Not sure if you can get in chrome though.

It's not chrome, but this is a great SOLID bumper, and pretty easy to put on.  I have this one on my 2500 dodge and love it!

Note: Thanks Dad for backing my truck into the light standard, I love the new bumper.  Everytime he borrows it now I tell him to go ahead and smash the front bumper too :chuckle:  The father-in-law gets the same instruction.

I have a Trail Ready bumper that I love. Very good quality and made in Everett.  They have a rear bumper that will fit the 2010 Chevy and leave the factory hitch in place.  www.trailready.com

I've seen some Road Armor bumpers on a few rigs. Those things are massive.
You apparently need 3 men and a small boy to install them though...

Remember that you get what you pay for with most of the beastly bumpers. If you have a friendly fab shop nearby they can probably get you a great product without having to worry about the drop ship delivery or huge shipping costs. They can also add/delete things you like/don't like.
