Halibut fishing Opens next month!
« on: April 11, 2012, 08:53:41 AM »
I am new to fishing Halibut in Marine area 7.  I have done some reasearch and am thinking about heading to Hein Bank, Smith Island or maybe the west side of San Juan Island by pile pt.  Any help on where to go would be great. Also what should I use for lures or bait? Ideal depth to fish? Any help would be appreciated!

I'll be out there, anywhere out there is good. Bait, U use a big jig with squid, simple and easy, just have to be where they are. Depths are around 100' but did catch one last year in 20'
